    The M41T62 is especially suitable for battery-powered portable product designs. The low operating voltage of 1.3V to 4.4V allows this clock chip to be powered directly by a lithium battery with an operating current of only 350nA. Many highly integrated microcontrollers have an on-chip real-time clock, but these chips are usually limited in functionality and require the addition of an external crystal. Unlike designs with microcontrollers or discrete solutions, this integrated solution addresses crystal-to-real-time clock matching, which can sometimes be tricky.

Other features that enhance design and system performance include oscillator failure detection (OFD), which helps the system detect power failures. It has functions such as shutdown time stamp and battery weak detection, and needs to add external devices to the real-time clock of the microcontroller. The M41T62 is also UL certified and has a built-in reverse diode.

    For those functions that rely on data logging, time stamping services, interval monitoring or synchronizing the system, the M41T62 improves system performance. such as SLR digital cameras, GPS receivers, portable multimedia players,
